Keep Pressing On

The Impossible Dream!

Sunday, May 8, 2016

It is Mother's Day and I am at home!

God is good all of the time! I am blessed and I am grateful, but I am tired, today. I let a little cough keep me from praising Him, with God's people.

Somebody said that they were preaching on Jochabed and I brooded about that through the entire night. If there is one person that I love and am spiritually envious of, in the Bible, it is Jochabed. She is the Christie Brinkley of the Bible to me. A model who got everything that I didn't. She stood in the face of terror and God answered her prayer for her son and gave her the privilege of rearing him and giving him God's truth in her mother's milk. I always remember my every deep and wholesome promises to God, when in the hospital and cry about the outworkings of faith and life. I didn't get to keep my firstborn son. I got many more, after, but there is nothing like mother's grief at the loss of one. My life represents the grief of the children of Israel's mothers throughout that generation. All of those mothers looked at Jochabed, like I do. God will and does come and fill our hearts with Himself and that has to be enough, when the questions are unanswered. But until then, my heart will go on singing. Everytime I hear her name, I just want to punch her. God's word and time has not diminished that feeling and I cannot imagine that it ever will.

Is the Worship and Praise Knocked out of you?

is your joy a thing of the past? There may be garbage in the temple.
Just a thought
What are we contending for? Talk and dominion over the airwaves are not a thing to be contended for, if our souls are not conforming to Christ. Are we giving up Christ for the privilege of talking about Him? I say to my soul, soul, first, you must live for Christ and then live for Him. I cannot have and express the joy of the Lord if my soul is in shambles, or the shackles of briars and brambles of my own forging. Help me, Lord to be complete in my expressions of contrition that will reflect in my worship and life. In Jesus' Name! Amen.

Help my praise to be full of real expression and not just empty rhetoric.

Political and Religious Machines in tow

Revelation 21:26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Election coverage should make us pray for our nation. We are given the great privilege to participate in the whittling of culture into the next generation.

Who did you vote for, mommy {grandmommy}etc.? Were you awake in the 2016 election? Did you give in to the destruction of masculinity and the crushing of the Christian perspective? Did you ask those people to articulate what they stood for, or did you guys only look at it from a special interest point of view?

I loved looking at John Quincy Adams' Unitarian perspective that stands out like a sore thumb from the "Christian World View" of that time, such as BB Warfield, etc. Sometimes God uses the people who stand out from the crowd and question the establishment and say, as it were, "if that is Christian, I won't participate."

Lord, You are able to cut through the fog of self and special interest and give us grace to represent right in a wrong world. Make it so, as we live through this nonsense of an election cycle, which is consuming, not just the babies held up as hostages to the womens' movement, but the next generation of masculine examples. Give us eyes to see the right way to articulate our values. Move us in the direction of Revelation 21 and not away from it. In Jesus' Name, Amen {the Light of that City song}

"All your children will be taught of the Lord" "The Promise is to us and to our children..."

Rebellion in the eyes has never alarmed me more than yesterday, with my Joshua. He, actually glared at me. I had never seen that glare of anger from him, toward me. He’s bitten and hit, etc., but his eyes never said “I hate you” like they did yesterday. My own children, I have seen this look millions of times. I have the opportunity to right the conflict and get to the bottom of it, but this was “my Joshy”.
I swaddled him at three months and we talked about the little things, everyday. Where was this glare coming from. My heart felt the grandmotherly call to pray for the soul of that little stranger and indeed I do.
Sometimes you throw your doctrinal knowledge of depravity out with the pedobaptismic incantations that you attempt to throw on your children and leave off the instructions of repentance and faith which is the tool of God to whittle godliness into the fallow soul of Adam’s wretched race. We have the tools. We just refuse to use them. We trust in the arm of flesh and are alarmed at their smack of pain in our face that pains us far more than a bite in our thigh. It is not the water of their baptism or christening. It is not the oil of a prayer or two. It is the incessant instruction of determined people that God uses to infuse His character and godliness on the depraved soul and body. Help us, O Lord to show this real care to our children, in a lost and dying world! Help, Lord! as many, as many...amen

The People who sat in darkness saw a great light.

That great light was Jesus. Jesus exemplified perfectly, the Father's intentions and purposes for holy living. Jesus submitted to the confines of humanity and the torture of a hovering judgment over his head for no purpose; giving rise to the only redemption of the soul that there would ever be. He could see this clearly and yet he walked on through the gloom and grief of knowing that His divine love was unaccepted. They were blind to its' need. They thought that the regimens of religion were efficacious, they weren't. God was pointing to a future redemption in the institutions of religious practices in Judaism. When Jesus came, these weren't necessary. He is the fruition of redemption and the focal point of our faith. He paid the entirety of the debt that we owe and He is seated at the right hand of the Father in full completion of the project. We, His Church are working those things out in our homes, churches and communities, for His glory! We are the fishers of men and wrestlers of unfounded principles, into submission for Christ. Halleluia, What a Savior!

Are we rebuking the devil, when we should be binding or loosing?

God's authority is given to the Church. The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ Her Lord. Sometimes we have time to argue points and significance, but an active faith is a holding and keeping of the torch in your heart and the hearts of your children. Some arguments are God's alone to discuss...Was Moses body saved by grace through faith, when he was nearly remiss to pass the blessing of circumcision onto his children? That is for God alone to judge, not even the angels and demons are judging that question. We cannot overcome the devil, by engaging him in debate about spiritual issues. He knows the Word and the Lord, far better than we do. We overcome him, by the "blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimonies". Seeing and savoring Christ better than our own glory and sharing Him with our dearest ones through love, is the answer to that question. God give grace to do, do, do that. Amen
