The People who sat in darkness saw a great light.

That great light was Jesus. Jesus exemplified perfectly, the Father's intentions and purposes for holy living. Jesus submitted to the confines of humanity and the torture of a hovering judgment over his head for no purpose; giving rise to the only redemption of the soul that there would ever be. He could see this clearly and yet he walked on through the gloom and grief of knowing that His divine love was unaccepted. They were blind to its' need. They thought that the regimens of religion were efficacious, they weren't. God was pointing to a future redemption in the institutions of religious practices in Judaism. When Jesus came, these weren't necessary. He is the fruition of redemption and the focal point of our faith. He paid the entirety of the debt that we owe and He is seated at the right hand of the Father in full completion of the project. We, His Church are working those things out in our homes, churches and communities, for His glory! We are the fishers of men and wrestlers of unfounded principles, into submission for Christ. Halleluia, What a Savior!

Are we rebuking the devil, when we should be binding or loosing?

God's authority is given to the Church. The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ Her Lord. Sometimes we have time to argue points and significance, but an active faith is a holding and keeping of the torch in your heart and the hearts of your children. Some arguments are God's alone to discuss...Was Moses body saved by grace through faith, when he was nearly remiss to pass the blessing of circumcision onto his children? That is for God alone to judge, not even the angels and demons are judging that question. We cannot overcome the devil, by engaging him in debate about spiritual issues. He knows the Word and the Lord, far better than we do. We overcome him, by the "blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimonies". Seeing and savoring Christ better than our own glory and sharing Him with our dearest ones through love, is the answer to that question. God give grace to do, do, do that. Amen
